Many banks, in particular credit unions, offer child bank accounts called Savings Safari. These types of accounts usually have very low minimums, making it easy for them to open. Typically, the tot gets a fun little toy or book from the bank when they open the account and a stamp in their passbook each time they make a deposit. Some even send the tots a certificate worth a dollar or two to add to their account on their birthday. The accounts are a great way for kids to learn how the banking process works.
