Inspiring Kids to Travel

"The word 'different' should have a positive connotation. You present it as something exciting — they're going to try something new . . . new foods, a different language, and again, it's that wonderful opportunity to engage them in conversations about the fact that there are all these differences around the world. You can also point out the similarities, though. How kids in other countries might play in the same way, or whatever it is that you're going to do. . . . Point out those shared similarities, too."
