Lil Tip: Hugs

As you might have read in my latest Family Ties, my lil one is sick again. She's coughing up a storm and it scares her every time. She's not much of a cuddle bug when she's feeling well, but that has certainly changed with this cold. Every time she starts to hack a little, her eyes pop open with fear and with outstretched wings, she lunges for me.

When your babe isn't feeling well, be sure to give them lots of love and affection. It seems like a no brainer and is an easy thing to do, but one of the best things you can do for baby is to provide some good old TLC.

I agree, I was referring to the title. Like I said, I was adding to it, not changing her advice. The advice is fine, I just thought to add a tidbit to it. :)

Oh and our baby is the same way - wanting to cuddle and be held when she is sick with a cold. She has one now too.

I think it says love and affection. Unless it was updated since your comment. I think Babysugar just shows her love and affection with hugs. Every kid needs love and affection when they are sick. Even big ones like me :)

Just an additional note - lots of hugs and affection is great IF it makes your child feel better. Love can be shown in many other ways if they're adverse to being touched and hugged, like my oldest. Trying to cuddle and hug him while he's sick would make him very uncomfortable and worse off. Like me, he has to be in the mood to cuddle, and when he's sick, being touched at all is like nails on a chalkboard. So it's not really a given that it's "best."
