How Soon After Baby Did You Resume Sex?

Sex is the last thing on a mom's mind after giving birth, but the subject is sure to come up. Most doctors suggest waiting until after the six-week postpartum appointment to ensure that the cervix is completely closed and the uterus has returned to its pre-baby size. Did you follow the doctor's orders, or did you get busy sooner?

5 months. Tried at 8 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, but it hurt too much.

Honestly? I haven't had sex since my 5 month old was conceived. So it's been 14 months and counting. I'm waiting to see if the desire comes back.

I remember my sisters saying to me "Take your time. The sooner you go at it, the more it is going to hurt." I waited until the 3 month mark and it was great! I had a c-section so I was worried about pain but it was totally fine. The trick was what to do with my awake baby...

I don't know why these things always say that a woman has no interest in sex immediately after giving birth... I was ready to go before we even left the hospital but that obviously didn't work due to my stitches :( After that we waited like 2 wks then started trying again but like others have said IT HURTS! I think it finally successfully happened around 4-5 wks but FYI it KILLLLS unless the guy's on top.

around 6 weeks...and it hurt!!!! i thought i was broken forever..thanks to my hundreds of stiches...but alas we are all good and working on two

Our Dr. gave us the OK on our 4 week mark, and since my MIL was here, we took advantage of not having to care for the wee one for an hour or so. I had told my hubby that morning that he "shouldn't get any ideas" but he wooed me in the end! LOL

lol i didnt have much wish to jump into the sack. it took me well over a month just to "recover" and walk around without feeling woozy or like my innards were shredded and falling out around my ankles.

Once I went to my post-natal appointment and my dr. told me I was good to go I immediately came home and made my husband drop his pants :-) I had no problems "getting back on the horse".
