In the land of the free and the brave, we are allowed to procreate (or not) until our hearts are content. It seems the trend is the more the better in recent years.

Three is a nice number :) We have one boy right now. I think we may adopt our third.

I read this article once about how over-populated our world is because of modern science and the social pressure to have large families (less now than in the past) and its totally guilted me into wanting 2 or less. I figure that if I want any more, I'll just adopt.

I come from a family with four kids, my hubby comes from a brood of six. We want at least two. But not right now.

i always say that i want 4 and my bf says he wants 2, i guess we'll see what happens when we get there, but i love the idea of a big family, i grew up in a family of 4 and i have tons of cousins, so we'll see what happens

I would love to have four or more children. Biological or adopted. But i could also live with just one. I just want one. Not now, but in two years i would love to have a little one. And i am open for a big family. I hated it alone with my sister. And we really don't get along in any way. I would have loved to have an other brother or sister. But it depends on how the kid is. But four was the number i dreamed of since high school. So that would be fantastic.

I put down one. My husband and I are saving the decision about whether to have a second until we see how we do with our first. I totally don't want a large biological family. I was an only child and my husband was one of two and that seems like a good maximum to me. Americans consume a lot, and we consume a whole lot of stuff for our kids. To me, it seems kind of ecologically irresponsible to have more kids than just replacing ourselves. But we may decide to get involved in foster care if we want more. My MIL and BIL both work with kids in the foster care system and there's a lot of need out there for good parents.

I have one, and I want at least two more, with an option for a fourth! I am one of four, and I have no idea what I would have done growing up without my siblings! I have a little boy, and I really want a girl next! I just don't know if I can love another boy the way I love my Ethan! If you have two kids of the same sex, were you afraid of this? And how did it work out? It's been bothering me because we've been thinking about trying to get pregnant in January.

I come from a huge family (four sisters, three stepsisters, two stepbrothers) and can't imagine it any other way. Granted, we didnt all live in the same house...but it just feels strange to think of having only one (or zero!) siblings. I'd definitely want to have as many as financially possible.

I liked being one of three, but will probably stop at two, and although we've both had the usual prejudices about only children our whole lives (hubbie is one of five), we have lately even been considering leaving it just at one.

i want three. though i don't have any yet. my mom wanted at least four kids, but after having just two she decided it was more than enough for her. a question to moms: did you end up having less kids than you originally wanted?

I only want two. Even if that means I have twins on the first try. Both of my parents come from large families but they only had my brother and me. With the cost of everything I really cannot see myself supporting more than 2 kids.

i think i'd be happy with one as long as there was a cousin close-by. my sister and i were/are really close and i want something like that for my kid so i might have to have 2. i don't care if one or both are adopted. right now though, i'm so glad i don't have any. at this point though i could be ok with none.

i have no babies yet but i want tons! i come from a small but close family. I want a very loud household. I want toys everywhere, i thrive on being busy! I can not wait for a house full of kids, pets, love and noise.
