How Many Hours a Day Do You Spend With Your Kids?

Quality time with your children can be hard to come by as parents juggle work and home life. Since kids spend lots of time at school, participating in activities, and being tended to by nannies, babysitters, and daycare centers, it can leave mom, dad, and tot lil time together. On average, how many waking hours do you spend with your offspring?

I'm with my son 24/7 except during my figure skating practices or other rare times my husband takes over so I can go out with a friend or something.

I'm with her all the time except when she's in school or at a friends house.....

I'm always with my youngest. My oldest is only away from me while she's at school or visiting friends.

Oh yeah, I love to talk to my daughter when she is asleep.. she'll tell me sweet things like she loves me or she smiles or I whisper sweet subconscious things to make her feel great about herself. It's the coolest thing to see her facial reactions in her sleep, ha ha ha.

I put 3-5, but it is really 4-6 quality hours with her. Today I was talking to my mother and she was shocked that I put my daughter up on the counter in the kitchen with me when I cook or clean in there... She was like "Well, that explains it!".. she had been wondering why my daughter kept trying to get up there with her when she is over there. I told my mom it is because I like to be able to look her in the eye and include her in what I am doing. If I'm doing dishes she likes to play with a cup and I put water in it for her.. I splash her and stuff like that. It makes it much more interactive than just shooing her out of the kitchen, thus hurting her feelings! (If I'm juggling a lot of hot pots/pans I make my husband watch her though.) It is just so important for her self esteem, I think. It makes her feel so important and she remembers those kind of things. I really enjoy the fact that she goes to daycare/school -- because she learns like crazy.. and then she appreciates, misses, and loves me so much more when I see her. It is the best feeling to see her in the afternoon. I make her give me the tightest hug she can several times over and over again. ...when she is asleep sometimes I spend time watching her too.

Almost all the ones that they're not at school. And the baby, pretty much all of them. *lol*

7-10, but only because i didn't count her nap times. and yes, there are days when those naps are quite wonderful.

It can vary. Depends on which child, on which day, whether school is on or it's summer. I do work Monday through Thursday but get lots of quality, focused time with them when we are all there.

I get to stay at home with my munchkin so we spend LOTS of time together. It is great! Although there are days that I am counting down the minutes until nap time : )
