lol thats like the 15th article ive read about not wanting to buy someone elses kid a gift. So.. don't? Why exactly is this a big deal enough that 15 people need to write a long sarcastic article about it? I don't have ANY friends or family that expect me to buy their kids, dog, husband, goldfish, etc, a gift. People who expect "gifts" dont often stay my friends because i dont like selfish demanding people. This is why i love my family tradition of just getting your immediate family gifts, usually just the kids, and spending more time doing fun holiday events with friends and family.

I liked the article about buying gifts for babies. Hah especially the part about not leaving toys in the living room. I think as soon as kids are old enough to talk, you should ask them what they want. Yes, maybe they'll ask for a motorcycle or a horse, but probably also some smaller things. That way you know they'll be happy with it. A friend's son recently said among the things he wanted for Christmas were some coca cola, cheese and a pair of scissors. You know what? DONE :)
