If your kids are heading off to sleep-away camp this Summer for the first time, then chances are that mixed emotions are floating around your house. While you all should certainly be excited, there may also be a sense of anxiety for the entire family. Whether or not you're prepping for it, homesickness plagues the vast majority of new campers at one point or another. It's a new routine, a new environment, and likely the first time they're living apart from dear old Mom and Dad. After a whopping 12 summers at camp as a camper, counselor, and group leader, I'm here to offer some tips to take to heart and ensure that your kids have the best experience possible.
