House of Dereon Ads: Kid Friendly or Are You Kidding?

The Internet is abuzz over this House of Dereon ad.

Owned by triple-threat Beyonce Knowles and her mother, Tina, the fashion house has taken a provocative approach in advertising their tot line to say the least.

But in this case, with lil ladies glammed up in high heels, leopard hats and overly appliquéd denim, it appears that mama didn't know best.

The outfits look more fit for street-walking than the playground.

What do you expect? When Beyonce's father was designing the costumes for Destiny's Child, he was putting his teenaged daughter and her friends on stage in clothes appropriate for a seasoned Tenth Avenue hooker without blinking -- and with her mother's blessing. It's no surprise to me at all that the campaign for the kids' clothing line is sending what can most kindly be described as mixed messages; that's practically the Knowles Family Signature.

Those clothes are way to ridiculous looking for a little girl and I would never put those flashy, overpriced, rags on my daughter and let her walk around in public either. We are all entitled to our own opinions and it's pretty obvious that the majority of posters here thinks these clothes are way over the top . I don't understand why everyone is so hard on this ad. It just shows little girls in clothes and shoes. To some people this seems wrong but to me this is cute. I would let my daughter wear this. There is nothing wrong with this picture. Don't hate because you didn't come up with something so cute. Why is everybody being so hard on Beyonce. She has excellent taste and all of you are just jealous that your not her and you don't have her talent. YES I SAID IT ALL OF YOU ARE HATERS AND YOUR HATING FOR NO REASON. I don't see anything wrong with this ad. They aren't showing any skin. What's the big deal? There are people who show much more skin than these little girls. If they were dressed like Britney Spears in her "Hit Me Baby One More Time" video then it would be innappropriate. They just look like they are playing dress up. If you want to complain about people who are dressed innapropriate then you should talk about Megan Fox and all those other celebs like her.

are they putting on a fashion show for the sicko pedophiles? im an advocate for children and this is totally unacceptable. tina knowles should know better. she has a young grandson. i have a young grandchild and noway would i let him wear this stuff.

it is fine to let your kids dress up, i did when i was little, but the difference in this is she is advertising to sell her product not showing little girls dressing up. what 6 year old is going to wear 3 inch heels all day to kindergarten? that is idiotic! if she is advertising little girl halloween costumes fine, but everyday clothes, she and her mother have a screw loose. actually it is funny in the fact to see beyonce and her mothers mentality, but scary this appeals to pedophiles. my little girl can dress up in my heels all she wants at home, but when she leaves the house she is going to look like a 4 yr old, not a hooker! sorry beyonce, you blew it on this one.

People need to calm down and stop taking every thing so serious. Frankly I have 4 daughters of my own between the ages of 12-1, and would let them wear the clothes, they are tasteful and cover up. She does need to take this advice. Tone the make up down, make them look natural, use very very little make up,take away the red pumps (no pumps at all). They are all princess, don't make them look like washed out DIVA's.

Ohjeeze you need to understand the fundamental difference between dressing up in your mother's clothing for fun, and being sold clothing to wear all the time. If you don't get that, please don't reproduce.

Obviously, most of you have no common sense. The kids are playing DRESS UP! Or didn't you do that when you were little? I think they're better then those stupid bratz dolls or whatever. These ads are no different from any other urban childrens line. Look at baby phat, apple bottoms, etc. She's not marketing to all you right-winged suburban haters, she's marketing to the people that actually buy her stuff and understand the culture. The media is just jealous because Beyonce is a young black female making more money then they'll ever make! Get a clue.

I love the clothing line! Obviously the boa is strictly for the ad, no one sends their child to daycare that way. the clothes are great. You people need to lighten up. Ladies, you all buy overpriced panties at Victorias Secret when you could easily get them at Target simply because of what VS implies. Lets not act like this is the first time we have seen anyone of any age dressed to impress. Our society has forced everyone to live beyond their means, dress uncomfortably and be completely superficial. I bet you bloggers drive your little girls from one dance class to the next to volleyball then piano, squeeze in a botox appointment, then meet with your personal trainer, get your hair highlighted and then with your maxxed out credit cards head back to your over-mortgaged home. Look in the mirror for a moment...I bet you all dress your little girls like the little princesses they are not. There is a reason you are all on a website called lilsugar..celebrity dish, fashion, anti aging, etc....

Looks like girls dressing up to me. They aren't showing skin. They do have makeup on, but so do little girls who do dance competitions. I wouldn't buy these clothes, but I don't see the big deal.

Carrothead is right they are Bratz come to life. If I was one of their moms I would be mad. If it was a little girl pretending to be in mommy's heels looking up to her Dereon wearing mom it may have worked, but they way it looks is bad. Love B, but they have enough money to have re-shot that.

It's clearly an ad people please calm down! Do you guys say anything when you go to buy a swim suit for your little girl and they have two piece string bikini's on sale for toddlers?????? If you look at it for what it is worth it's obvious that they're mimicking playing dress up. I mean the little girls shoes are too big, but lemme guess they probably did that on purpose too. But if you want to say something about this line of clothing for children then say something about how Payless has been selling heels for little girls for quite some time now and no one has said anything about it. Don't like the clothes then guess what... don't purchase them. I'm not taking the side of Beyonce, I just think that everyone is over reacting.

Get over it people!! Have you never had your child dress up in your clothes - heels, makeup, oversized dress - the whole nine. It appears to me that they are exaggerating a look to show the girls dressing up in House of Dereon clothing. Of course, no one is advocating you put high heels on your child. It's advertising!! Duh!! It's the same idea as when you see other ads for designers like Gucci and Fendi showing models wearing outrageous outfits that would never make it past the runway. The clothes are not ugly, just overly metallic. That's their signature look. People are so quick to hate, just say it's not to your tastes. As for the children looking like hookers, what hookers do you know wearing jean suits and hats. PUHLEASE!! Stop hating on B!

I like the adult version but what was she thinking. Her mother should know better. That's like selling thongs in kid sizes. Get real. Well she is going to have to do some major damage control on this one. Lets see how this turns out.

i think people are over reacting, all kids play dress up and put on "mommy's" heels.. hell if you dont like it dont buy it.. but there's no need to completely trash beyonce and wish her bad luck.. thats just taking it too far..
