The Clek Oobr ($275) caught my eye before I was ready to make the switch. The modern seat, which looks like a car's bucket seat is designed for kids 33-100 pounds and uses a car's LATCH system (in addition to the seat belt) to anchor it to the vehicle.
Was it comfortable? Our tester found the Oobr seat to be one of the most comfortable seats we tried. It has padding throughout to keep legs from falling asleep and an easy-to-use recline system that keeps resting heads from flopping forward.
Is it easy to install? The red markings made it easy to identify where the seat belt should go, while the latch system snapped right into place.
What did you like about it? The style (especially the Paul Frank version) appealed to my tot who was eager to climb into it. At just 14-inches wide, the slim style seat makes it appealing to a mom with a smaller car. The waterproof Crypton fabric, which repels liquids and stains, and the detachable cup holder were pluses too.
What would you change about it? At 20 pounds, the seat is a bit heavy to be moving between cars. Also, the $275 price tag is steep unless you plan to keep your child in it for 2-3 years (which is feasible with the 100 pound, 57-inch size limit).
