It's the process, not the product. For young kids, art is doing. . . . A messy, globby picture may be your child's way of exploring color and texture. Follow your child's lead and don't focus on the finished product. It may not be important. Young kids are fascinated by the process of art but may not care what happens to their picture when they're done. Art is action.
