The ability to get youngsters to eat things that they generally will not eat is only possible with the use of L-O-V-E in cooking for them. the taste of food is enhanced with this common but not overly used ingredient. Many Urban youth are familiar with only canned vegetables and do not know that fresh or possibly frozen vegetables actually taste good. Many Children do not have vegetables on their family dinner table at all. They are just getting their introduction to them at school. I wish I could cure the ails of this new generation of mothers but I can not. But Love, love, love for cooking for our families does make a better tasting dish. That might help to start with. Also, "Selflessness" in the kitchen. I am aware of how it feels to be tired and not want to, but selfless mothers, not selfish will do it anyway. Or they might try getting children acquainted with salads as soon as the children are able to chew them.... It would help.
