In a recent interview with Britain's Daily Mail Weekend Magazine, Oscar winning mom, Gwyneth Paltrow, 35 spoke candidly about future additions to her and her hubbie, Chris Martin's clan.
A People story reported:

"Paltrow – mother to daughter Apple, 3, and son Moses, 1 – also admitted she's thinking of expanding her family. In four years, she dreams of having "two-in-a-row, really quick again," while Martin would like to adopt."

Used to think to have kids with a little age gap. But when I saw how my little friend (the son of my friend) is so sad when his little sister was born, I changed my mind. We (my husband and I) agreed about 5 years age gap.

I have a 9 year old and should have a newborn in the next week- that might be a bit too much space for me but I never thought I would be having more kids. While I wouldn't mind having one more, I personally would like a bit of space(2-3 years) between them but I'm getting up there in age. I don't think there's a right or wrong here at all.

i know very few women who went through with their plan to start all over again with the diaper drill once their youngest was in kindergarten. to each their own, but i think it's nice for the kids to have the same frame of reference and be close in age. with the type of spacing she's talking about here (assuming she can even get pregnant at that age twice in a row) the kids will not have much in common at 7 and 9 years apart. how do you have family outings when one group wants to see bambi and the other die hard 3? you have chuck e cheese vs. date night. sounds difficult.

My sons are spaced 5 years apart. I am very happy with the spacing. I had one who was partially independent and one who was in diapers. When the one came home from Kindergarten, the other was napping. I felt more effective as a mother. Personally, I would have been overwhelmed having an infant and a toddler/preschooler. I have seen plenty of harried mothers and strained marriages as a result of couples having children so close in age. But to each their own...

Other - it's completely individual and what works for one family won't work for all.

Whatever works for each family. I personally don't think I'd want to have two more kids at 39, but who knows?

I think each child should have his/her own time with the parents before they decide to have another. My daughter is only 1 and I think that having another baby right now would be unfair to her since we wouldn't be able to dedicate as much time to her. I think at least 2-3 years is a good amount of spacing.
