10 Easy Dishes to Deliver to New Moms
One of the last things on a new mother's mind is dinner. Any extra time she has on her hands is typically used to pick up things off the floor, throw in a load of soiled laundry, or catch up on some lost z's. Kitchen time is usually limited to heating up bottles, pouring a glass of water or throwing together a quick sandwich. An overwhelming 77 percent of LilSugar readers said they would prefer a meal over a newborn gift when given the option. So next time you think about showering that baby in layette, think about prepping one of these easy meals instead.

I was just talking to my friend about this. The month before I gave birth I stocked our freezer with enough meal for a month......... it was so awesome to be able to defrost and reheat.
1In our area, when any of us are having a second or more child, we usually forgo the usual baby gifts and baby shower and have a "stock the freezer" shower where everyone brings a meal or 2 for the parents-to-be's freezer. There's also a few who put in an IOU of sorts to bring a couple fresh meals over for the family. The fresh ones are often for the day they get home from hospital and a couple days where mom is busy taking baby for appointments and health nurse visits.
2that's such a good idea anon! i should start suggesting that once my friends start having their seconds.
