Girl/Boy Diamond Pendant and Chain: Ga Ga or Gag?

These Girl/Boy Diamond Pendants ($200 to $1,800) were designed by Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, who says she had her own children in mind when she created the playful figures. The 18K white gold setting is filled with little diamonds and was made to be worn in multiples (Marie-Chantal wears one for each of her five children). Would you wear gem figurines of your family on your neck, or do you think these are just classed up versions of family bumper stickers?

I think these necklaces are a bit much, but I have a bracelet with a simple little silver boy shaped pendant on it and I love it. It has one small diamond on the face and that is it, and my husband surprised me with my sons initials on the back.

I really doubt that Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece designed these, as they are exactly the same as these necklaces they have here in Norway, called "angelic children" and they have been around for ages. I'd happily wear a mother's ring (especially like my mom's - very simple - just a band with four jewels on it) but I would never wear these. I don't like jewelry that looks like people ... that kind of creeps me out. lol

Yeah, those are pretty ugly. I'd never wear them. I always thought those pretty little simple ones that were really popular years ago werent bad though.

I wish there was some kind of third option here. I would def. never wear these considering they look tacky, but there is some beautiful family jewelry that i would wear.
