The Gifted Child: Hip Holiday Gift List For Grandparents

4

Ask most grandparents what they want this holiday season and they'll tell you time spent with the next generation. Ask any kid what they want from grandma and grandpa and expect the world. Each family's relationship with grandparents takes on its own form, but mas and pas are known to spoil their little darlings at birthdays, during the holidays and any given day of the week. Take control of the gift giving this holiday season by setting some ground rules and giving them a short list of items your wee ones would love and need. Classic toys like the Radio Flyer Little Red Wagon ($19) allow grandparents to celebrate vintage toys of the past — just don't say "vintage"! — and will be loved for years to come. Here are some other hip holiday suggestions to share.

How cute is the little teepee? I made a christmas list for my son on myregistry.com so I can just email his list to people when they ask and I am definitely adding one of those! That would be perfect for grandma's house because she has a big backyard Jack loves to play in!
I don't really care what my kids get from anyone. It is the thought that counts.those toys are cute, but my monsters would destroy them the same day :)
I really wish we could get my in-laws to understand that our kids don't actually need much from them but to PLEASE try to shop off their wish list. Instead, they buy our kids a bunch of junk that's played with for a few days and then they don't care anymore. The bigger problem is that we can't get rid of it because they expect to see it and hear all about how much the kids love the toys and crap. They do the same thing with me. We have a closet that's over full with linnens, and yet almost every gift giving occasion I get more towels. Really, save yoru money and buy me a $15 CD off my list. I'm a mom to 3 who doesn't often buy anything "fun" for myself, and that would be more appreciated than anything!
