Ga Ga or Gag: Pregnant Henna Bellies

Modern mamas-to-be are taking part in the ancient traditional end of pregnancy practice of some cultures by having henna designs adorn their bellies. Said to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck and happiness to the lil one growing inside, the 100 percent natural application turns into a true work of art.

Hennaed bellies are awesome. I think besides being good luck and to ward off evil spirits a hennaed belly leaves you feeling pampered and appreciative of the changes in your body and celebrates the life inside you.

Yes, it's gorgeous! I had Henna on my hands and loved it. Besides it fades pretty quick.

I think is looks amazing, I've never been preggers, but I would def have this done when I do decide to have a kid.

Not for me... I mean, it looks awesome. But I don't think the general public would see it, I tend to keep my shirt covering my bump!

for a special picture or as a baby shower thing to do it looks like fun. But to wear as an everyday thing? No.

Henna is used in MANY cultures, and I don't think it makes anyone is a "poser" to adorn herself or to adopt a beautiful tradition. I am a henna artist, and I certainly didn't grow up with henna, or even know what it was until I had some applied for the first time a few years ago. Hennaed bellies are awesome. :)
