Does Your Whole Family Dress Up For Halloween?

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. Creativity and dress up allow you to be someone else for just a little while. Many parents use the spooky holiday as an excuse to dress the whole family up in one guise. I'm not sure how I feel about that concept. Perhaps being pregnant is a blessing in, errr, disguise! Would I rather be sitting at home doling out candy on my comfy couch or matching myself up to accompany a wee Dorothy by suiting up as the Wicked Witch of the West and piling recycled foil on my husband for a reprise of the Tin Man?

this year (our sons first birthday and halloween party) he's going to be Elvis, my husbands going to be jimi hendrix and i'm gonna be amy winehouse... its not exactly a "together" costume but its got a musical theme, and my husband never enjoyed halloween till we met, and now he gets into as much as i do (okay maybe not as much, i make/gather his costume & he wears it w/out complaint hahaha). i'm soooo excited about it... i hope our son grows up to enjoy it as much as we (okay I) do. hehehe.... and i would probably dress up to take him trick or treating even if we were the only ones who did it... it's FUN... it's HALLOWEEN... who cares if the neighbors think we're nuts (altho most of them are invited to the party and they know a costume is required... we're setting the halloween precident).

We all dress up.. we don't coordinate costumes though.. but I'd like to some day. We're usually the only adults in costumes who are taking their children out trick or treating lol but we don't mind. :-)

We all dress up, but never in theme or anything. The hubby and I usually tone it down and go with something more casual than full costume, but we do usually all dress up.

i would love too but around here there arent a lot of parents who do it. So for us to be the only ones..weird... besides arent adult cotumes really really expensive? or is it just me? $80 is a bit too much for one day out of the year!

This is our first year with a child and he is the only one dressing up (black cat). Maybe in future years we will think about dressing as a family.

Greggie, that sounds awesome! I don't get to dress up anymore because my dad doesn't hand out candy and the neighbors think I'm too old to be collecting. It's kind of sad, actually.

I'm a little Wicked-obsessed. *lol*I'm trying to talk my husband into at least wearing a green top hat and being the Wizard, but he's not into it. And my older son almost agreed to be the Tin Man but decided on David Beckham instead.My younger son, however, started the whole thing by requesting to be the Scarecrow. So now I'm taking him to Wicked next week in his costume.

the kids are the only ones with costumes.....but it would be fun to dress up..:D

We don't but I wouldn't be opposed to it. I had to look up Elphaba, I may need to get out more ;-)

I guess my comment had to be erased when the poll was redone. :) We don't dress up as a family. This will be the first time I've worn a costume in years, and I'm going to be Elphaba with my daughter as Dorothy.
