Does Mother or Father's Day Get More Hoopla at Your House?

Usually one spouse is more amped for holidays than the other and this works out when it comes to children's birthday celebrations and Fourth of July festitivities. But, when it comes to mom or dad's special day, does one parent put in extra effort — planning the perfect activities and purchasing a thoughtful gift while the other just improvises? Who gets the better deal in your house?

I'm with lilsugar on this... my husband is the best with cards, which is the most important part of the holiday for me. Plus, he cooks on Mother's Day, which is about the only day of the year he uses the kitchen.

Hubby gets a free day on Mother's day, I take our triplets with my sister and her children and my mother to the zoo for the day. He gets the day off, then on Father's day I make a big deal about it (cards, cake, gifts, breakfast, dinner, etc.) He's a great father & husband and deserves it. Only wish I could do more for him.

Fathers Day gets the bigger to do. I am more creative and take time to do stuff for him. Plus all I want is to sleep in and not have to clean. I have a newborn and 21 month old so both of those are hard to come by.

Mother's Day def. got more attention this year and most years.....My husband is much better at that kind of stuff than I am, though I have good intentions I just never get around to accomplishing them, somehow he finds time to get everything done for holidays and birthdays (though not much else!! I guess that shows what's important for him...) what can I say though I've got an infant and two puppies to chase after!!

Mother's Day fo show. I don't even bother to get him anything. I honestly think he's lackin in the father's department.

I'm better at making plans, but my husband takes the cake when it comes to writing/buying thoughtful cards and presents with our kids.

Daddy gets the bigger day! I think it's just because I'm super creative with holidays and he, well, he's not. Our daughter gets Christmas, my birthday is always a big deal with my side of the family, so he deserves a bigger day at least once a year!

For the second year in a row my hubby is getting more for his day than I am. I am a little disappointed (being a stay at home mommy deserves SOMETHING, right?) but I know that my wonderful hubby works hard every day so that I can stay at home with our little guy. I'm very proud of the man he matured into and the father that he's turned out to be for our beautiful son. (But maybe a card next year for Mommy's Day wouldn't be so bad! haha!)
