I think alot depends on how you were raised and how affectionate your parents were with you With my family we always did kisses right near the mouth maybe once in a while on the lips but I think I'll kiss my little girl that way until she protests, haha!

im 15 and i kiss both my parents on the lips...its nothing wrong...its just their way of showing affection... if its because of the germs to some people, then how do you show affection?

dang.. whats wrong with you people?.. no wonder why we have so many child molesters in this country.. kissing on the lips? you crazy.. it is too intimate and that is how it starts..thats what kiss on the cheeks are made for..i hope your dad and mom didn't do other things.. since such a high percent of females get molested in the life time.. kids only kiss you on the lips only cause they see both you adults doing it and think it's normal.. as a parent you suppose to seperate it for them the difference otherwise you have a huge chain of people doing it thinking it is normal. what next? your going to have sex and your kid peeks in and your kid wants to join in .. your going to not stop that too? you don't see it on tv anymore. just some old movies.. time after time they show a kiss on the lips is when you have a interest that leads to sleeping with the person or a lovely dovy love interest.. don't question me.. question your tv shows .. and why i'm right and your wrong when u thought it was normal..

I'm a teenager. When I was little my mom always kissed me on the lips, it made me feel safe and loved, it was comforting! My dad dies when I was little, so i don't really remember that from him, but I will definatly kiss my kids on the lips when I have them. It's not like the passionate kiss you share with your signifigant other, it's just a sweet "I love you baby" kiss.

Before kids, I thought this was gross. Now that I have 2 kids - I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. It is so different with your own - but I can understand how others would not appreciate it like the parent would.

i wouldn't kiss on the lips all the time but so what u know,it's just a kiss,4 me it's usually like the forehead or sometimes the cheek but it really doesn't matter :)

It's ridiculous to think kissing your kids on the lips is crossing a line. Someone else's yes! your own - give me a break!However, how easy it is to report child abuse and the crazies out there who will do it just for spite makes it easy for me to understand why some people won't do it.

my parents were very affectionate with my siblings and I and my mom always made sure to give us lots of kisses, but not on the lips. she doesn't like when people do that with their kids. I always thought it was cute, but only with babies, not older kids. now my mom gets mad when my sister or I do this with my niece. lol. but she's only 6 months and they're truly irresistable! :)

i don't think theirs anything wrong with kissing your kids on the lips, if the age is appropriate.. my son is 5 and i think it's ok... but on the other hand, my husbands mom trys to kiss him on the lips even when he trys to avoid it. she will literally grab his face and try to kiss him on the lips just to bug me. he has to pull away from her to make her stop. i think it's outta line to do it at that age.

Okay, in England anyway, kissing on the lips is seen as a romantic kiss, and I've always thought it was just weird to kiss children on the lips. Now I have a two year old, she always tries to kiss me on the lips and I sort of turn away, but I also love feeling her little kiss. It's not, obviously, sexual, romantic, anything like that, but you have this blinding love for your kid and any and every part of their face is the loveliest thing in the world and so are their kisses. I will, though, be encouraging cheek kissing only when her aim is better. I feel a bit sad now, seeing as how all you yanks are so fine with it.

Honestly, unless anyone is slipping in the tongue or doing something inappropriate than a kiss is just a kiss. Sometimes in my family the adults (family members like sisters or whatever) will kiss each other on the lips, the cheek, or they'll just hug. In my family we don't just stay there for a minute and kiss each other, we just do a quick peck on the lips and it is over. I don't believe that there is anything wrong with it at any age.

As long as my parents, my children or I are living we will continue to kiss one another on the lips as a show of unconditional love to each other. I can honestly say I don't give a flying flip about what anyone thinks about it either. I say shame on anyone who judges someone's show of affection for their kin just because it is different than yours.
