Do You Find French Vogue's Mom Photo Spread Offensive?

There's no one portrait of motherhood, but the April issue of French Vogue is sure to get people (particularly parents) talking. It features a photo spread of a model portraying a postpartum and pregnant mom. One shot has her smoking and carrying her baby (doll) in a basket while another has the infant airborne. What's your take on the pictorial?

I think it's distasteful and trashy looking but I don't find it personally offensive. I look at it and think "what in the world were they thinking???"

I didn't think they were offensive or ugly, just funny and you know, a change. And if any parents think people will take parenting advice from Vogue, well... we won't ^^

I don't think they're offensive but I don't find them particularly fashionable either. They seem like they're trying too hard to be controversial (although I find it inconsistent that some have a less than ideal mommy image - smoking with a baby or throwing it in the air - while others are more nurturing - playing with the baby in her lap and reaching out to touch it's fingers)...

I actually saw a couple of moms smoking when they're on their last trimester (ex-neighbors). As a mom, I'm not offended, but they're not exactly my favorite pictures too.

it's also not a baby - it's a doll. it's not like any children were harmed in the making of this photo shoot.

Are they actually showing maternity clothes? That'd be a huge surprise and something I'd commend them for. I agree with Roarman. It kind of reminds me of Wry Baby stuff, where it's obvious they are satiric.
