Dirty Lil Secrets of a Mom of Three

All moms have secrets, but do mothers of multiple children have more? Once a woman has a few kids, she knows the perfect mother doesn't exist and that enables her improvise in lots of different situations. As long as the kids are happy — right? My friends call me The Laundry Queen bc I actually prefer to do laundry over all other chores. I used to keep up on it better, but now that I have three, I often find myself letting it pile up until after their bedtimes. My attitude needed some serious adjusting for a while as I realized I was working well into my "off" hours (ha ha--like moms really get those)so I came up with a solution and began listening to books on CD. Now, as for my dirty little secrets: If I know company is coming, I have no qualms about hiding dirty dishes in the oven or the dishwasher (big ones that need to be handwashed). Also, since we've recently moved into a two-story, I have learned to lax up on my kids' rooms since most people don't go upstairs besides us. I am a big fan of dropping my kids off to school without a bra on as long as I have a heavy sweatshirt or coat on too. Finally, I get so busy that I often forget to do toilets as long as there's no obvious YUK in sight; however, if I'm pressed for time and know something should be done even if it doesn't look like it, I LOVE using Clorox wipes on EVERYTHING necessary to alleviate my guilt. Oh, one last one, I have TONS of paper clutter, and I usually hide it in laundry baskets when I need it to go away for the sake of making my home appear organized. ;)

My dirty secret is that when all my laundry is full and I don't have anymore jeans, I'll go into the dirty laundry and find some jeans that don't look to dirty to wear. l0l that'a nasty but hey

I rarely wash my kids' faces and rarely brush their hair - the hair it doesn't show so much because it's slick straight. But the faces? Oh my. And we only bathe our kids 2x a week - partly because it dries their skin out but partly because it take soooooo long. heee!! my dirty secrets!

Hah re the laundry - not long ago I was on the phone with my mum and complaining about how I had two loads of laundry to do for Monday. Then it hit me we are a family of five and those two loads must have been x5 for her!! Between that and tidying/cleaning after my flatmates, I wish I could go back in time and help her more with house things!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with laundry issues, though I do put away the girls' stuff. I can't stand to go out without a bra though I'm jealous of those that can. My dirty secret is probably not getting my daughter's hair brushed until the afternoon, it's such a battle to get in brushed. So many times especially when were in a hurry, it gets thrown into a ponytail.

We're a family of 7 so far and laundry being put together is a top priority for me. I don't think it's fair to make my kids dig through a pile to find clothes, or to send them out in wrinkled stuff, so it's something I make sure is done every night before bed. For the record, you don't have to sneak food and water into a movie theater. Even if there's a sign that says "No outside food or water," legally they cannot stop you due to medical issues and food allergies.

I love that I can regularily run my oldest to the bus stop in the early morning with my yoga pants and a sweatshirt, now bra in sight! I do live in a place where we have cold for at least 6 months of the year, so it's quite often I can do this since everyone's in warm coats and no one can really tell! I also have the laundry issue! We're a family of 5 as well, and the laundry gets washed, but not folded and put away as much as I'd like. I've found that it seems to work best if you wash each person's clothes in their own load and then put them clean into seperate baskets, that way if they don't get folded and put away, at least it's easy to find the right person's clean clothes!
