Contrary to popular opinion, hypnosis is not about making someone bark like a dog in front of an audience. It's about making suggestions to the subconscious level of the mind using three elements – relaxation, increased concentration and focus on the goal. Though not very popular, some members of the medical community are starting to recognize hypnosis parenting and hypnotherapy as valid methods to address a variety of common childhood ailments. Hypnotherapy is used to resolve bedwetting, thumb sucking, eating problems, migraines, and anxiety. One common technique used in kids is the "blow away" technique. In this technique or method, children are induced into a hypnotic state asking to blow away any negative feelings.
