There's nothing less sexy than a big, beige pair of undies, but for expectant women who have packed on the pounds to create another lil human being, comfort may come first.

And, lacy lingerie might be left in the back of the drawer, until it's time to bring sexy back after the postpartum appointment.

Did you forgo g-strings and toss your thongs?

I am wearing low cut G-strings panties. I am almost 6 months and feel good and sexy under the bump. My husband can't keep his hands of me and they are great for sex, It has improved since my bump started showing wearing G-string panties.

Not really important the cut as long as they are nylon/silky feminine panties I think.

I've seen TONS of polls asking men their favorite style of panties - and the top two in every poll is either "full cut nylon brief", (granny, only not cotton), and "thong". There are Yahoo Groups devoted to nothing BUT guys into just full cut nylon briefs. Especially popular is the 50's style, with a large rear "gusset", (double crotch area). White is the hands-down favorite in any panty style, because it shows off the curves and is just more inncent looking. Cotton is horrific to most men, in ANY style. Satin and silk are nice, but they're not as semi-see-through as nylon. Trust me, guys may not always admit it in front of anyone, because of the stigma Madison Avenue has attached to "granny panties", but they truly do LOVE granny panties. Like everything else, the minority seems to get all the press - the culture of fear we live in, (fear of being ridiculed), but if you find full cut brief panties comfortable, just make sure they're nylon, or anything but cotton, and the guys may surprise you with more amore' than you expected.

The Motherhood store had maternity thongs. Very comfortable. My but was big enough, I didn't want to worry about a pantyline too.

the hanky panky one size thongs have been perfect! i've been able to wear my regular panties whole pregnancy and they're soo soo comfortable(I'm due in 2 weeks). after the birth....that's a different story.

I didn't bother with maternity undies this time around... I love my gap body girl shorts and thats what I wore and am still wearing (my baby was born Saturday). I haven't had a problem with messes... my pads are pretty big!

I didn't get maternity undies because I didn't want anything up on my belly. But my butt was getting way too large for my regular undies. lol So I just bought some a couple of sizes bigger and they worked perfect. They've been great after baby too since my figure is still not back yet. Oh well, it's only been 5mos.

Forget about maternity underwear that are expensive and will only be worn for a few months... I just bought big sized g-strings at Wal-Mart! Super comfy! And you can wear them AFTER baby while waiting for your figure to go back to normal! Besides, who need those visible panty lines, even if you are pregs!

I stuck with my low waisted undies. I found it uncomfortable to have things pulled over my baby bump.

I just wore my regular panties. they are all very low waisted... i did that with a lot of pants too just bought one size up (to account for extra hip) and wear them low! I didn't buy anything special for the pregnancy, just for after birth.

well, when I was pregnant (late 80's early 90's) granny panty maternity breifs were pretty much all they had. Japanese Weekend had just come out with under the belly styles and I tried one or two pairs. They were ok. I guess I just wanted comfort and coverage. Now, if I happen to get pregnant from our IVF (May or June) I will not be wearing them. I am so used to hiphugger underwear now that I am definitely going to get them or just keep wearing what I have.

oh my god, mine were so horrible. i am short waisted and by #3 my tummy was so big i had no choice. everything cut my tummy in the wrong place and hurt. when i got rid of those (about 4 or 5 weeks out, it was a happy day :)

I stayed in my vs low cut bikinis - couldn't handle the thongs cause my but just popped out! and I looked weird but the cotton bikinis and boy shorts were great! I wanted my belly free...

hahah, I got some just b/c of the icki after the birth stuff. I figured why ruin good ones when motherhood had clearance on undies and they were super cheap. I'm due tomorrow by the way. Good luck Peepshow!

I never bought maternity underwear. What's the point? I am wearing grannies now though- but I'm also due in 3 days!! I don't want to 'mess' the good ones.
