Thank the good lord I didn't tear or have an episiotomy. But then my son was not even 6lbs when he was born he was tiny. Oh and yes I agree that the Peri Bottle thing was a gift from heaven.

I tore in two spots with my baby. One was on my labia. They healed just fine though and everything looks like it did before as far as I can tell.

It was inevitable seeing as my beautiful baby was 9 lbs 12 oz. Worth every stitch.

plus_2_kid: If that was even a legitimate question, they can apply warm compresses and mineral oil to aid with stretching. With my last two births it was too precipitous to allow time for anything like that.

I tore even though I had an episiotomy. It wasn't too bad but I'm with CBragin on lovin the sitz baths. lol Also those icy pads were great.

whoa - you mean it's possible to NOT tear?no kids (yet) and this is music to my ears - that it's even a POSSIBILITY?Should I start using larger and larger dildos to make room? Sorry....too explicit?
