Would You Put Your Child on TV?

Reality TV kiddos are in the news once again as Jackson children may or may not be hitting the small screen in A&E's new reality series, The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty. From the Duggars to the Gosselins, we've all witnessed that the hype and extra cash that accompanies being in the public eye can be both a blessing and a curse. Despite it all, new shows are always popping up featuring young children whose parents are willing to take the risk in exchange for a wee TV career.

Many LilSugar readers already blog about their tot on the Internet, but would you take it a step further and put your child on TV?

Not ever happening. I've seen more than enough of reality TV scandals and the total destruction of families because of them.....

Reality tv, no way! Now, if there was a bit part in a really cool comedy or sci fi show...I might have to think about that.

I don't think I would.. I'm not very social and I would hate the talking part of it, and I like my privacy. I blog, but when you blog you get to choose what you show. I don't really want my life critisized nor would I want to be followed by paparazzi (jon and kate). I would also worry about too much of a good thing. I don't think its the end of the world to have one or do specials though, its just about moderation..jon and kate have obviously gone over the line long ago, but most of the others are fine.

NO, but I can understand why people with many, MANY children consider it for the money. I think the Duggar's have the right idea (if you're going to do it at all)- it's mainly just a few specials here and there, which is sort of fun for the kids, gives them some extra money, and gives the public a peek into a different and interesting family without exposing every detail of their lives to anyone who wants to look.
