Do You Co-Op?
Theaters pulled their curtains, restaurants closed their doors, and cabins at camp went empty — all a sign of the times. While the economy may be causing families to tighten their purse strings, there are still ways couples can make date nights possible. Instead of hiring a babysitter or abandoning solo time, many families are forming co-ops.
A co-op is when families form a group and agree to watch each other's children, which in turn frees up one set of parents. Each couple takes turns making the concept a practical and cash saving option. And, the wee ones benefit as it mean playdates with established family friends.
