Ga Ga or Gag? Clocky Alarm

Getting your child to get out of bed can be quite a challenge. My five–year–old niece could sleep through a hurricane. When she started school, my sister had to start to crow like a rooster to get her to rise.

They could have used one of these Clocky Alarms ($50) that can drop down three feet and roll around your room until you give chase and turn it off. Now if that doesn't get your child out of bed, then good luck.

It's a little expensive for a child's alarm clock, but a great idea.

We just got one for Christmas - that thing scared the bejeeezus out of us! I had read about it before, but no one mentioned the crazy alarm noise - sounds like an evil robot from the future! I believe my husband's quote was "I think I just pooped my pants a little." The dog woke up from a dead sleep and started attacking it. I think it could wake even really sound sleepers up, but it gave me such an unpleasant adrenaline rush that I just can't use it.

I love it - I honestly set one alarm clock and two cell phone in order to force myself out of bed in the morning. It's not that I don't want to get up, it's just that my bed is so warm and cozy. The clocky would definately help my morning sluggishness.

I could have definitely used this in high school. But, now I have a really annoying habit of waking up about half an hour before the alarm is set to go off when I know I have to get up and be somewhere.
