How Well Do You Know Your Vaccinations?

Vaccinations are a hot topic for parents these days. Many people, including Dr. David Tayloe credit the childhood vaccine program with being the "most effective public heath program in the history of mankind."

When I go to my daughter's check–ups, I like to know what shots she's due for and what they are supposed to be preventing. Sometimes, it requires a lil reading before the appointment.

Well, I got them all right, don't have kids. When I do I am not sure I want to vaccinate. I am thinking of possibly doing a spread out (modified) time line. I am not sure yet, but I am going to research it out before I have kids.

Right there with you lickety. I hate how they present all their information as undeniable truths. And they use fear as their weapon.

I just ordered "The Sanctity of Human Blood, Vaccination is not Immunization”, by Tim O'Shea with hopes of learning enough about vaccines before my lil guy comes in June. I am planning on vaccinating our baby but I wanted to space out the vaccines so his body can learn how to adjust slowly. If anyone knows of a suggested timeline of when you should vaccinate your kiddo if you're worried about the effects of vaccinations, I'd love to see it posted!

Lickety, Have you ever seen the difference between the vaccination schedule of the 80's vs. today? It's pretty astonishing! I find myself asking lots of questions, hence ordering the boo.

we don't vaccinate anymore and my youngest has had whooping cough twice. it was just a cold with an occasional cough, she was seen by her pediatrician both times and nothing was prescribed either time. no one else in the house got it. i hate the way the medical community presents these illnesses as if the most horrible thing that could happen to your child is what will happen if you don't vaccinate. we are extra cautious about vaccinating at our house because of the reaction to vaccines with our 2 older children. i'm not saying our way is for everyone, but reality isn't the straight forward "vaccinate or death!" that is put out there by the medical community.

4/4! Funny thing this is brought up today because I just received my copy of "The Vaccine Book" by Robert Sears. I'm really looking forward learning more about vaccines.

4/4! My pediatrician's office offers information sheets on vaccines the visit before the shots will be given. It's good to read up ahead of time and make an informed decision.
