Kids: Madeline, Peter, and John
Why Him? Sure, plenty of his smart-guy, over-the-top satire may be well over the heads of lil ones. Back in 2006, Colbert told 60 Minutes that he rarely allowed his children to watch his show, saying, "Kids can't understand irony or sarcasm, and I don't want them to perceive me as insincere." This May, Grand Central Publishing published Colbert's first children's book, I Am a Pole (And So Can You!) about a flag pole's quest for identity. While right-leaning parents may not be rushing to their nearest Barnes & Noble, we can all appreciate the Colbert Nation host's interest in educating young minds.
