Brooke Shields learned she had miscarried while waiting to walk on stage to perform with Muppets characters. She wrote in Down Came the Rain that she received a call from her doctor and just crumbled. She said, "We were crushed. Up till then, I thought simply because it was time and I wanted to have a baby, it would work." Shields went on to give birth to Rowan Francis, 9, and Grier Hammond, 6.

there are plenty of celeb moms that have miscarried before successfully having children it's nothing new. Joanne Woodward did during her honeymoon in 1958 and because of the lasting emotional scars she's never spoken about it publically Sophia Loren miscarried twice before the birth of her first son Carlo Ponti jr Lana Turner had 6 miscarriages before her daughter Cheryl Crain was born and 6 after due to a blood clotting issue. it's only been in the last 20 years or so that stars have openly spoken about fertility issues and pregnancy loss
