Today Host Hoda Kotb Adopted a Baby Girl! Check Out 26 Other Celebrities Who'veĀ Adopted

Babies come into homes in many different ways, and Hollywood homes are no different. Some are born at home, some breathe their first gasp of air from the operating table, and some are born to one mother only to find a home with another. Celebs have traveled the world in search of babies to call their own.

Hoda Kotb is the latest celebrity mom to expand her family through adoption and is now the proud mother to a 1-week-old baby girl. The Today host called into her Show on Feb. 21 to announce that she adopted a daughter, Haley Joy Kotb, a Valentine's baby born on Feb. 14, 2017. Hoda posted a photo from Today wishing her congratulations on the adoption to her Instagram and Twitter with the caption, "My girl #haleyjoy."

We've been going through this for a year ā€” getting ready for a baby; it falling apart; getting ready for a baby; the mom changing her mind. So [now] we were excited but conservatively excited.

Mixed-race babies have such a hard time being adopted that Deb and I checked off that box specifically when we were filling out our forms. Our lawyer brought the form back to us and said, "This is not the time to be politically correct. Are you sure this is what you want?" We were definite about it. Adoption is about taking a baby into your home ā€” and your heart. It's the best thing we've ever done.

Edie Falco had an unusual reason behind her decision to adopt her children, Anderson and Macy. She said:

I'm just not one of those people who thought having biological children was that important. To me it was more about wanting to raise a child. I have this dog named Marley, and it is a kind of love I had never known. I have a hard time believing Marley did not come from my body. I know that sounds insane, but I feel that connected to her. She made me realize I wanted to adopt children.

Mary-Louise Parker

Three years after giving birth to her son, Will, Mary-Louise Parker adopted Caroline "Ash" Aberash from Africa. A year after the adoption, she commented on it, saying:

I think it's something everyone should do if they can and want to. I can't adopt 500 children, but I did adopt this one beautiful little girl and it was an amazing thing. Especially after having been to a Third World country, and having seen the desperation there, and the need, and all the children, and holding those children and seeing them and touching them.
I hear the comment, "Why not adopt from this country?" There's a lot of need in this country. And I think if you want to adopt anywhere it's a beautiful thing, but it's not a contest. So you shouldn't say "Why don't you adopt this child over that child." A child is a child and every child deserves to be loved.

I said, 'While you are having the difficulty, the kid is sitting out here in limbo so I'll tell you what I'll do, just put the kid in my house until the tour is over with and then we will sort this out later'.
