Kind of an interesting idea, but knowing how hard kids can be on stuff... I'd rather spend the money to buy something that's all REAL wood and is going to stand the test of time. My mom still has some of our furniture from when we were kids and has saved it to pass on when my sisters and I have kids.

This is just some schmuck's way of cashing in on moms who think they're going green.Like many single mothers, I have a very limited budget. I can't afford to buy a $300 crib. What I can afford is a $30 crib from a resale shop (cleaned and well inspected for defects, of course). Not only does my money benefit charities, but nothing new is produced. So many people forget that 'reuse' is part of 'reduce, reuse, recycle.'I am so pleased with the green revolution that is going on, but at the same time: I am disgusted by how many profiteers are slapping the word 'green' on hunks of garbage. I am only slightly less disgusted by how many people fall for it.

The cardboard stuff is laughable, and people who buy them smack of the whole "I'm so environmentally correct!!" arrogance. Buy well made items, pass them along, then you're helping out. Buying something that's for a limited use and then tossing it, not so much.

Yes, and the first time the kid's diaper leaks in the high chair, or he throws up, the cardboard is ruined. I find the white cardboard tables and chairs completely laughable. How long do you think they'd hold up under multiple uses with multiple kids? Again, what do you do with cardboard when it gets dirty/soiled? Kid spills her milk, buh-bye. It's glorified PAPER. Here's a weird idea: How about buying regular wooden furniture and passing it along to others when you are done? Same with other baby equipment. You can spend $300 on a cardboard crib or $300 on a decent wooden crib. One could last for generations. The other? Not. Another factor: People think that recycling is a magic cure for environmental damage. But it takes a great amount of energy to recycle things. Trucks that haul goods need fuel. Chemicals are used to break down the materials, as well as extreme heat and a lot of water. There is no way to avoid an impact on the environment. I think it is far more responsible to reuse items again and again, rather than throw things away hoping they actually make it to a recycling plant.
