This price is ridiculous and there are many other front bike seats available for less. Although maybe not in the US. Generally the rule here is the baby goes in front and when it reaches a certain weight he/she will move to the back because it's more stable.

When we were doing bike seat research it said these were not as safe as the kind that went behind the seat. Apparently it throws off your balance a bit more and can interfere with your ability to peddle and steer. We ended up getting one that goes behind my husbands seat.
