Back in our parents' and grandparents' days, having half a dozen children wasn't all too unusual. In fact, some moms and dads had offspring into the double digits. Now, it seems that those instances are far and few between, with many couples maxing out at two kids.
But when we polled readers about having lots of tots, 34 percent said they'd welcome the idea, while seven percent said they would even like as many as their bodies would bear. Brad Pitt has intentions for a soccer team, Chris O'Donnell currently has a party of five, and Pete Wentz recently said that he wants a band, football team, or a geometry club.

Not sure they are making a comeback. If I had the financial means to have 4 kids, I probably would. But with today's economy you have to be a millionaire! I think for people like Brad and Angelina it is easier because they have the money. I always wanted 4 kids, but things change! Mainly because of money.
1i was an only child but most of my friends and my parents friends had several children in the family. now my kids have classmates with 5 and 6 kids. only a few are only children. anyway, hollywood has never been a place where families were big (unless they adopted the kids) so i don't think much has changed.
2If they could afford them why not!
3I have three and would love to have one more.
4We have 4 children. Apparently that's considered a big family. I have friends with twice as many children as we have (and then some).
5We have four, and people consider us to be a large family. I wouldn't change a thing!
6There are big families out there still. I don't think that really went away.
I think money is, unfortunately, a big factor. Some people can only afford to support two children so that's all they have. Celebrities can have massive broads because they can afford to pay for them!
7i love to see big families. if the parents can financially and emotionally support 6, 7, 8, 9+ children, then that is awesome. i think i'm biased because i am one of six and it was/is so much fun.
i don't like to see the large families where the parents struggle to make ends meet and the children go without...that's where some people could be more responsible.
8It seems to me that I know far less big families than when I was growing up. I'm one of four, Mom is one of eight, Dad is one of five. I think big families are fantastic!
9I think they are slowly making a comeback. I would love to have a big family, my mom came from a big family so I have a ton of aunts, uncles & cousins and I always wanted to have that for my kids. I have 1 so far... hopefully I'll have a few more in the future
10I agree with Michelleannette. I love to see big families, but what is the point if you can't support all of them financially? And not like buying them all a car, nice clothes, etc. Those things aren't necessary. I mean more along the lines of education, extra-curricular activites at school, etc.
11i look at big families and think.... aww how wonderful. and then i have a wk/end where the lil guy is teething & feverish... and all that big happy family cr!p goes RIGHT out the mind & i'm left thinking HOW can people w/more than one do it!!!!
12Big families are coming back but not in the traditional way now they are BIG BLENDED families. I went from having a sister to now having 3 sisters and a older brother!!!! So when we go out we are those BIG families now!!!
13I love big families. But I think a financial strain prevents some people from having more kids. And more women are career oriented, and focus more on themselves more so than women did 50 years ago.
14Raising 1 child has gotten unbelievably expensive these days. If you want to have a big family, I'd say make sure your financial and emotional houses are in order. It sickens me when some people have children one after the other when they (the so-called parents) can't even look after themselves.
