Does Your Lil One Love Bath Time?

Typically kids either loathe bath time or can't get enough of it.

Lucky for me, my babe is the latter. If she could have her druthers, she'd soak in bubbles all night long and let the cold water run over her toes until she shivered into a purple-lipped popsicle.

i constantly have to fight my son to get him out of a bath. while he is in it. he is the happiest little boy in the world. Coming out he screams as though someone is beating him, this continues for 10 minutes, every single time! lol

Schnappycat you could let him take a shower with you. My daughter didn't like baths as a small infant but she loved getting in a hot shower with my husband. I think water temp was a big thing too, I like my water temp HOT, and my husband likes it cold so she usually got these iffy warm baths. Now they're 2 and 1 and they'd stay in all day if I let them. On those days where we are going crazy inside the house I'll draw up a bath.

My 2-year-old loves bath time, mainly because she is obsessed with her growing collection of bath toys. The bath is getting pretty crowded! When she was a newborn she HATED bath time, but someone told me to wrap her in a receiving blanket and put her in the baby bath with it on. Worked like a charm! My son initially hated them. We found what worked for him was to keep a warm washcloth on his belly while he was laid out in the little baby bath thingie. If it started to cool off, we'd dunk it in the water, squeeze it out and reapply. He just hated coldish air on his belly.My daughter has always loved bathtime and my son came around pretty quickly.

My son enjoys his bath, he has severe eczema on his arms, knees, and face so they are short but sweet.

My nephew would go through phases of loving/hating. For the last 6 months he has absolutely loved his bath (he's almost 2) but WILL NOT let you wash him with a washcloth. It takes some serious mind games to get the child clean (i.e. "Can you wash ducky's nose? How about YOUR nose??"). So, he takes bubble baths, but the bubbles are from the soap. He was also having trouble getting out of the bath, but now we let him lift the drain and he gets to say, "bye bye bath" and then we make it a really fun game of finding all the bubbles on him to dry off ("Do you have bubbles in your bellybutton?"). He's too cute.

My son love's the tub. He only has a couple of toys in it with him but he will play for hours. Sometimes when I am really wore out and just need a break, I will stick him in the bath, bring my book in with me and read on the toilet while he plays.

Luckyme, I've had other people suggest co-bathing, but honestly, I don't like taking baths myself that much and very rarely take them. Oops. Plus, how does that even work with a full tub of water and an infant? Or do you not fill it up much? I'm dumb. ;) I do have a digital thermometer, but maybe will make it on the high end of the temperature scale. Or try making the room warmer. I think maybe he hates the cold air.

Schnappy - our daughter hated them initially too, but a couple of things helped her start to love it. What worked the best was me taking a bath with her. She just loved that! I think she felt more secure. I would also bring her in the shower with me and she loved that too. One last thing, we were using the temperature gauge on a little ducky that we been given as a gift at our baby shower and it turned out that she liked the water a bit warmer than Mr. Duck suggested. I hope he turns into a little water baby before you lose your mind! :)

I don't have kids yet so I just voted in accordance to myself :) My mom said that as a kid I **LOVED** taking a bath! She would have to fight with me to get me out lol :)I still like baths but don't get to take them much :( Ah... college life!

My seven month old LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES the bath. As soon as he hears water running anywhere his little face just lights up. He doesn't love the getting out part as much...and neither do I.

schnappy--my oldest didn't really enjoy the bath until she could sit up and play in it independently. She didn't hate it when she was a baby, but the loving it came later. So have hope!

My 3 month old son HATES it with the fire of a thousand sons. I've tried everything to get him to like it. :( So the poor guy doesn't get bathed as often as he should because it makes my husband and me batty. He's due for one tonight and I'm already dreading the non-stop screaming. I'm really hoping he outgrows it and enjoys it more once he can sit up and play.

Ok, so I know he's not a big lil' kid... But my son (6 months) LOVES bath time! He splashes around and plays with his toys and giggles and squirms... It's funny cuz at night when I say "Come on Johnny, it's bath time" he just starts giggling like he knows exactly what I'm saying. :)

My girls would take baths twice a day if I let them. Bath time is a big favorite. I can actually use it as an incentive/treat if needed. My oldest did go through a 2 month phase at age 2 or so during which she hated the bath. But other than that...
