Given the short amount of time that a baby uses most products, it makes sense that some companies design baby gear that also grows with them. Made from eco-friendly bamboo, the Castor & Chouca Hop! Bassinet-Trolley ($415) is a bassinet with plexiglass sides to easily view baby without having to peer over the top. When the lil one has outgrown the newborn bed, the item can be used as a toy box.

Would you seek out the Hop! Bassinet-Trolley, or is it trying too hard to be multi-functional?

I understand the appeal of the see-through sides, it's like the bassinets they have in the hospital- but it looks like the baby would almost be on the ground- that's weird and definitely not safe if you have another child (like say a toddler!) who would want to push his or her sibling around! And I agree- for $415 you can buy a decent bassinet and a toy box- and if you have a 2nd child, you would need a separate toy box anyway.

I don't understand the whole "you can see them through the sides rather than peering over the top" selling point. If you don't want to peek over the top because then they see you and start fussing, well, they can see you through the sides too. In fact, I think it'd make it easier for them to see and fuss, whereas with a traditional bassinet you can stand a distance away and peek and chances are they won't see you. And it looks like you've stuck your baby in a Rubbermaid bin set on a skateboard.

Again, what's the point in buying multifunctional stuff if it's more expensive then buying seperate items?
