It's no surprise that we're huge fans of Crewcuts around here, so when we learned that J.Crew has now expanded its children's line to include baby, we were jumping for joy. The collection went live on J.Crew's website today, and it does not disappoint. While the brand has offered a limited selection of tiny cashmere pieces and "In Good Company" partnerships from other beloved baby lines (Old Soles, Rikshaw Design, and Oeuf, to name a few . . . ), this is the first time that J.Crew will be selling its very own basics for infants.
"It was very organic, literally and figuratively," Jenny Cooper, Crewcuts' head designer said about the launch of J. Crew's baby line.
"We started by putting in a few cashmere sweatshirts because it was easy, and who can resist? Then we found Nature Baby and we saw that people were buying it and responding to it. We just kept shopping other brands because at the time, we didn't have any people in design dedicated to Baby. But In the face of growing demand we decided we could devote more energy to designing our own baby collection," Cooper told us exclusively.
