i liked getting the diaper cake (erm.. actually i got 2!) but we were also given a baby monitor which naturally helps us hear the baby when he cries but also shows the temperature in his room and plays soothing music for him. it was an expensive gift, and our friends split the costs, but we use it every day and was a great gift!
