Lil Tip: Baby Laundry

Sometimes the fresh scents and soap suds from baby detergents just don't do the job. When my baby girl had the tummy bug and threw up on her crib sheets, I resorted to an old family trick to rid her linens of the odor.

During the laundry's spin cycle, add one cup of white distilled vinegar. It will break down the smelly substance and soapy residue leaving the wash fresh and clean.

DesignRchic- My doctor said it's fine to use unscented regular detergent

DesignRchic, I have been using regular laundry detergent for my newborn and haven't had any issues. Detergent like Dreft is expensive and unless baby has a reaction, I think (and have been told) it's fine to stick with regular detergent. To each her own, of course.

Is it bad to just use an unscented regular detergent instead of buying seperate detergent's for baby laundry?

Borax works wonders on things like urine stained sheets. Just don't dry them until you know the smell has gone.I have used vinegar too and it works great.
