Octuplet Mom Nadya Suleman Speaks With Ann Curry

The single mother of octuplets, Nadya Suleman who has 14 children in all, was released from the hospital early Thursday morning. While much of America is fascinated by the 33-year-old who used fertility drugs and donor sperm to conceive all of her offspring, it is NBC's Ann Curry who scored the first interview. After watching this first clip of the conversation that will air in its entirety on Monday on Today and Tuesday on Dateline, what is your impression of Nadya Suleman?

I am a Male 34 years old, my wife and I have 2 beautifull children (planned) 6 and 4 years.... I am a General Contractor and my wife is a Teacher..... sometimes we have to put things aside to give our children the attention they need..... I can not even imagen how would that possible with 14 children...... I feel sorry for those children..... I hope they turn up healthy and productive on today's society..... I believe in order for that to be accomplished, they should be put in responsible households, to give them the love and education they deserve..... Her (the mother)and her doctor... they should pay for all the expenses related to this irresponsible decision.....

i dont understand if she already 6 y in gods name who she do fertilization and come out with 8 more...makes no sense....i got 4 kids and i struggle....and for to say she didnt have plastic surgery thats crap...she looks just like angelina jolie.....too much as a matter of fact....sooo fake....i think she wanted all these kids so she can be like the duggers or jon and kate plus eight......the differnce is they are not on welfare and they support their own kids......i see it to where a girl can have the kids she wants as long as she can support them herself.....my aunt has 11 and they are well tkane care of without being on welfare or assistance......go figure.....she needs to close the baby factory already....

she says she doesn't get welfare...but she does get "food stamps" which while are not called welfare is the same nonetheless. She should be ashamed of herself. I am not upset with her for becoming a single mother. I believe that people can raise children by themselves and the children turn out perfectly fine (myself for example). But it does get selfish when you have more than five children. How is she possibly going to split herself 14 ways equally? Even superwoman would pale in such a situation. With that aside, the biggest problem is that she cannot afford these children. It is not fair to them. She said she will be able to afford them...after she finishes school! Well, darling, finish school and then have children! This woman has made a mockery of and cast a bad light on inventro fertilization, which is a god send for people who have trouble having children.

ha, mental is putting it way too gently, i hope she loses them all and gets no money period! at least you know they will be in a better cleaner environment, what a pigsty that home is!

In my opinion the choices this woman has made are not ideal; however what is done is done and now the more pressing issue are the well being of the children. I believe her heart is in the right place and she is well aware that she is in over her head and now those of us that can help her by means of donating used baby clothes and baby gear should do so. Think of the babies. Why should they be punished; all they know is that they are here and their lives are precious. Who are you all to judge her. Be kind hearted.

the more i think about this, the more i think the state should monitor her and these kids to make sure they are being properly cared for. i don't know how you could feed 8 preemies by yourself, much less 6 additional children. her grandmother has said that she is leaving when the mom comes home. that leaves the nanny and possibly the grandfather (does he leave with the grandma).

I couldn't believe that she defined a selfish parent as one who does not spend time with/hold their children and has absolutely no clue that her actions are just as, if not more, selfish. Not to mention she plans on going back to school (an otherwise responsible decision) and leaving 8 preemies in day care.The whole thing is incredibly disturbing and I too noticed that it looks like she had surgery to look more like Angelina Jolie.

Franky, I think the Angelina comparisons have more to do with the way she looks and not her choice to have the 8 children. I still think that the fertility specialist was wrong to go through with this procedure knowing her life situation. That has to be a breach of some kind of medical ethics code...

Oh yeah, and I also heard that she has been trying to shop around for free stuff from companies, but no one wants to support her. Its obvious that if big companies support her it will encourage other people to sell out their kids.

ok how was she able to afford having her lips enhanced and an obvious nose job? who does she think is going to take care of her kids while she finished school? She plans on being a counselor??? How is she mentally stable enough to provide another human being with information AND does she realize that they don't make taht much money? Even for families that have 2 parents that would still be a lot of money to take on... She spends at least 45 minutes holding each baby everyday, thats about 8 hours, does she also spend 45 minutes with each of her other children? Because if she does she must be on some kind of drugs to keep her awake for that long. What does she plan on doing when those babies are out of the hospital. RIght now she has it easy because someone else is taking care of them.... If she is really obsessed with kids then she should have become a preschool teacher... and I also have to say that if she couldn't find someone to be her boyfriend or husband to father her children then i think that also should give us some clues. This is honestly making me sick, because I DO live in CA.

The nerve of this woman to critize parents who can't be with their kids every waking second of the day because they have to WORK to support them. And please stop with the Angelina comparisons. Angelina Jolie has millions of dollars and a domestic partner. What this woman havs is 14 kids in a 2 bedroom house with 1 grandparent and no MONEY.

i thought the same thing about the angelina connection...it seems pretty clear to me that she has had lip enhancement as well as a nose job in an effort to look angelina-esque. how creepy, disturbing and utterly devastating for those 14 children of this obviously unstable woman.

You know what? I want a third child; but, reality (go figure) tells me to wait because my husband and I are struggling financially with two children (by no fault of their own). We have to delay our plans because we are thinking logically, not emotionally. She needs therapy fast. Children aren't dolls nor are they therapeutic solutions to dysfunction.

sarahinparis, i thought the exact same thing. she has clearly had plastic surgery that to me, looks very similar to angelina. and when you add all the kids... this is so disturbing and upsetting, even w/o the weird angelina thing. ugh! i hope nobody pays her a dime, but i know that won't be the case. and, i'm sorry for all those living in CA, b/c there is no way she will be able to pay for the MILLION-dollar NICU bill (and i'm not exaggerating the expense). actually, i hope somebody does pay her b/c then, she can pay for their hospitalizations rather than the CA taxpayers. i hope she has run out of embryos.

I agree with what was stated above. The woman clearly did not think this through or put the interest of her children at the center of any decisions she's made. Does anyone find her lips a bit odd? I wonder if she had them enhanced. I get this feeling that she is trying to look/be like Angelina Jolie . . .

After watching it this morning I definitely think there is a mental issue there. I sure hope she is telling the truth about not being on public assistance with no plans to. I mainly feel sad for the kids.

This woman has a very distorted image of reality. When she said that she is "providing herself" to her children when asked about the fact that she can't afford all these kids is crazy! Hugs don't put food on the table or clothes or your back! Also, how she said that she will be able to provide for her kids once she finishes school. WTF?! Why didn't she wait till she was done with school and could support herself and her children before having more fertility treatments to have even more kids she couldn't afford? And how much $$$ does she really think she is going to make? That many kids is going to require a small fortune. I heard that she was studying to be a counselor. Now THAT is pretty scary!
