There's long been that myth about models not being the most intelligent, but on this week's America's Next Top Model, a mama's decision making came into question. And, it brought a whole new meaning to the term, mother's milk. Claire, a 24-year-old contestant admitted to drinking her own breast milk and likened the taste to a light soy milk.
In the interview snippet that followed, the model explained that she's pumping so her daughter will still be able to nurse when she returns home. I'm not sure if something was lost in translation, but hasn't the catwalker ever heard the term "pump and dump"?

I couldn't tell if she was being fake or not... who drinks their Breast milk!? Is that even safe!???
1I wouldn't do it, but yes its perfectly safe, its milk. If it weren't safe, why would you feed it to a baby?
2Wow.
I don't know if it's my location that it's possible, but she could donate it instead of drinking it. WTF.
I might try it just to try it... but not continue to do so.
3Wow. That's pretty, well...wow.
4Sorry, didn't mean to sound harsh
5lol i hope she was kidding ...but i have dabbed my finger in my breastmilk to try it one time - it tastes like sugar water
6Why is this a big deal? I tried mine too, gossipqueen7. I think it's weirder that we drink cow or goat milk, personally.
7She's making a huge effort to keep her supply up to give her baby the best possible nourishment. Pumping is a ton of work when you're *not* on national tv. I feel bad for her. I haven't drunk glasses of my own milk or anything, but I've tasted it (especially when I suspected it had spoiled). *shrugs* It shows a lot of dedication to keep pumping.
8She's my favourite contestant - although there are a few clever girls this year. She's beautiful and smart, I thought. But how is she going to live without a baby she's nursing? Is there some gap between qualifying and all living together and how long does the whole process take? I know this is something I'm taking too seriously but HOW WILL SHE COPE???
I also tasted my own - you do when you're pumping, not just because you spill loads on your hands - and it is jolly nice. Because I used to produce such a rubbish amount, I used to scream and cry like a crazy person when I spilled a bottle I'd spent hours collecting.
9Tasting is different than chugging it. Maybe she was kidding.
10What I don't understand is why she can't freeze it and overnight it or something... but w/e
11Hmm... now that's a first on ANTM
12See to each his own but it's not like by drinking the milk it is going to help her supply? I mean, yes, she needs to pump to keep the milk coming but it's not really helping her supply at all to be drinking it? I guessed I am just confused....
13I don't know...it seemed like she was joking around when she said that.
14OK, it's not "just milk". It's chock-full of hormones and vitamins and a bunch of other stuff too. NOT for adults!!
15ewwww. i understand pumping for her daughter, but to drink it?? gross
16I've tasted my son's formula and cereal. Mainly just to see what he tastes. I don't see anything wrong if she's tasted it. To drink it is gross in my opinion, but to each their own I guess. Who am I to judge. She's not harming anyone by doing it is she???
17got cookies?
18I am sure she is just pumping to burn calories. Women have been known to lactate just to lose weight.
