Under Age and Under the Knife: How Soon Is Too Soon?

I know a few ladies who got boob enhancements instead of a fancy dinner or watch for their high school graduation gift. I think my parents would have chosen death before giving me silicone implants.

But these days, many moms are all for "bettering" their child's exterior. Star did a side by side comparison of Ali Lohan from May 2007 to March 2008. Clearly the 14–year–old would have been required to have one of her parent's (I'm guessing the lovely Dina's) permission to plump up her kisser. I'm doubting that those lips are just puckered for the pictures.

At what age, if ever, would you allow your child to go under the knife or needle?

UGH that girl annoys me even more than her older sister. :rant: I think she's naturally pretty (just take a look at the first picture!), but the second one is way overdone. She is only 14 years old, and now her lips look like inflatable balloons. I would NEVER allow my child to go under the knife, for boob enhancements or any other enhancements for that matter. When they are officially legal, they have the right to do what they want, but I will always put my two cents in about the big decisions in their life. Dina is such a bad influence.

no i wouldnt because of the risks, and i would be sad to seem them take the risks... i believe that its unfortunate that some people are much more beautiful than others but when you have a family that needs you and loves you and vice versa cosmetic surgery is not worth risking your life for... and gosh hopefully my children wont need botox while they're still under my roof

wow, she looks like Ann-Margaret in the second picture. That's not good for a 14 year old. I wouldn't put my child under the knife or needle for anything cosmetic. It's ridiculous: how can you possibly raise them to think of themselves as beautiful and strong if you say "once you fix this problem..."? Even for boys...my mother-in-law had my husband's ears fixed when he was four and he still resents it to this day. The message was "you are physically unacceptable" and it was a message he really absorbed (not helped by the fact that his mother still talks about it and how she doesn't think the doctor did a good enough job pinning them back!!).

I think it's so sad that both of the Lohan girls seem to have lost their childhoods. The most make-up I wore when I was 14 was Bonne Bell Lip Gloss. Somebody needs to tell girls that it's okay to be 14 or 12 or 10. They have their whole lives to be adults.

i didn't read the post above mine before i posted. that's a different situation and if my daughter wanted to correct it i would do it whether our insurance paid for it or not.

wow, that's sad. how do you tell your child they need some "improvements"? i would think 16 would be the youngest and then only for something drastic. an old boyfriend of mine had a younger sister that had a nose job in high school and the difference was shocking. she looked so much prettier and was so much more confident. a boob job? i don't think i'd ever go for that. i don't know why it should be different than a nose job but for some reason it is to me (?)

UNless its to correct a birth defect I say my kid isn't going under the knife til they can pay for it themselves and are adults!! That said...I have a cousin whose breast development was lopsided. Extremely. One side is an A cup and the other is almost a D cup. It is extremely noticeable. Her insurance through her parents would have covered it since it was considered a birth defect but her parents never made it a priority so she still has it and is 23 now. Recently married and is very happy, but is also very self conscious all the time. So, in a case like that I would consider surgery to make my daughter feel normal.

I think that's just plumping gloss. Note the telltale reddish ring around her lips - that's a sign of inflammation, not injection. Also, if she'd been injected, her upper lip would be bigger than her lower.

When they can pay for it on their own and don't live under my roof anymore. I'm not sure Ali had anything done though. These pictures aren't convincing for me.

That's awful. You shouldn't even think about surgery until your face and body are fully developed.

Yeah I don't put anything past Dina but I think in this case the kid MAY be just pouting her lips out for the camera. Trying to look sexy. Speaking of which, she looks WAY too sexy for a 14 year old!
