help as much as possible, if they allow it. Ask to change diapers, hold her while they change IVs, feed her, anything to give you face time with the baby! The nurses recommended I be there for every feeding during the day but to pump at home for a couple of the night feedings so that I could get sleep and relax. Just sitting in the NICU can be stressful even if your baby is doing ok. The beeps, crying and watching other babies just wears on you. But stay positive. And accept help from your loved ones!
