If you are a devoted lilsugar reader, then you know we love to spill the beans on things nobody told us about pregnancy. On last night's episode of Notes from the Underbelly, Lauren had a fit that her feet were not immune to the growing stages of pregnancy.
Like many expectant women, she called a friend — Julie for comfort and words of wisdom. Sadly, the new mama could only confirm that Lauren's greatest fears were being realized and that not much could be done to help her except to buy brand new shoes.
My feet went back to their original size, thank goodness! Did yours?

I could only wear birks for the last three months of my pregnancy. Gladly, they were in the spring. My feet eventually came back to their original size. They didn't ever grow in length though...
1That's not true, is it, that feet can stay bigger forever? Mine didn't grow a millimetre in my first pregnancy, but I want to get pregnant again.
2My feet didn't actually grow - they just became swollen. So luckily, I can wear all the shoes that didn't fit during pregnancy.
3Mine have gone up a half a size with each pregnancy, and stayed there. So did my mom's and my sister's.
Which sucks, because I started at a size 8, so now I'm a 9 1/2 and still only 4'11". Hmph.
But it's the same thing that stretches all your joints. Your hips, your pelvis, etc. Feet just tend to stay that way for some people because you don't get the pressure taken off them the way the other joints do.
4Yeek.
5My feet didn't grow or swell at all as far as I know (unless it's still coming...). Yay! I'm so relieved because I already have large feet for my size and was concerned I'd have even bigger clown feet.
6No, they did not go back to normal.
Like Greggie, mine went up a half size with each pregnancy.
But, that did get me a whole new closet full of shoes...
7I went from a 9 to a 9.5-10 depending on the style - it has been over a year - so nope - didn't go back to pre-pregnancy shoe size!
8I just got back my delicate little ankles in the last 5 days. I'm so happy to not have cankles any longer that I really wished my husband had a foot fetish so he could appreciate them as much as I do
I'm not sure if they grew another 1/2" like they did with my first child as I'm still off work and only wearing flip flops, got to love living in Southern California
9I don't have children yet, but my mom once showed me her wedding shoes...they were 2 sizes smaller than what she wears now. She has 4 kids, so it seems like the 'half a size' with each pregnancy rule was true for her too....I really really hope my feet will not grow that much when I have kids!....I already am 8 1/2.
10No No No No No! I just found out I am pregnant, and the idea that my feet may permanently grow is awful. I am already a size 12, do you know how hard it is to find shoes that big, and how expensive they are? I will have to see if this happened to my mom, and hope that it won't be permanent.
11My feet went back to normal (if anything, they seem a little bit smaller), but my sister's feet went up from a size 8 to a 9.
12i've heard this
13i though it was an old wives tale
I have twins and my feet did not grow and are the same size they have always been. You have to watch how much weight you gain. pregnancy is not a licence to get. Exercise and get health and will be well.
14Weight gain has nothing to do with it.
Not everyone's feet are going to grow. But weight gain doesn't impact how your joints handle the hormones, and if they bounce back.
And swelling isn't always related to weight either.
15My feet permanently increased from a size 9.5 to a 10 with my pregnancy.
