I can't get enough of Sandra Boynton. In addition to her books being silly and insanely creative, they are great bait to get your babe hooked on reading. She may not learn the ABCs from Snuggle Puppy, but she will learn to love the ritual of reading it with you, which is a first step to reading.
Each board book is short and sweet — easy enough to read five of them before bedtime. Once you read one, you'll want to run out and buy the rest. And before you know it, you'll have the whole Boynton collection memorized. It's amazing how many of my father friends can, and will, sing parts of Snuggle Puppy on demand. "Ooooh Sandra Boyton of mine, every book by you is especially fine!"

OH - we LOVE Sandra Boynton in our house! We started out with the Going to Bed Book and then moved on to Snuggle Puppy which is a nightly staple!
1Moo, Baa - definitely a sweet little book.
2PR Sugar, we did the same thing! I can and do often recite The Going To Bed Book, and we just started reading Snuggle Puppy nightly. SweetPea even dances along as I sing it to her.
I love Boynton's books. Moo, Baa, La La La is one of my favorites, and SweetPea loves "Doggies!". I hope to get them all, I have a good amount of them now. The first one I ever read was "Barnyard Dance" and that one had me hooked. And I just discovered "But Not The Hippopotamus" over the summer. I think I may like them all better than she does. It's the same thing with "The Backyardigans" on Nick Jr, though.
3Big fans of Boynton here as well. I was reading "Moo Baa La La La" and "Barnyard Dance" to my daughter from a very early age.
4Moo, Baa..The Belly Button Book, Snuggle Puppy, The ABC one, the Going to Bed. Wake up! We love them all!
5oh i LOVE her. my son's favorites are pajama time and snuggle puppy. my daughter is kind of getting too old for it. she does like reading them to her brother, though.
6She is fab! We just love her here at our house. I have them all and am constantly giving them away as gifts. Even my husband will read them.
