All week we have been telling you about some of our favorite children's books in honor of Children's Book Week. We hope the next time you need a book, you'll consider adding one of these to your kiddie library.
- Goodnight Moon — Do you love the red balloon and the old lady whispering hush?
- Pat the Bunny — Now YOU pat the bunny.
- Freckleface Strawberry — Cherish those freckles and everything else about you!
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs — Have your kids rolling around in bed thinking about overcooked broccoli falling from the sky.

Reading to your kids is overrated.
1We love Goodnight Moon. My boys are almost 3 and we have read it almost every night since they 4 months old. Now, my boys know the words and love to point out all the items in the pictures. It is the last book we read every night before we turn off the light.
2What is up with holysnap? Reading is not overrated. Reading is good! It's been proven, and I've seen it myself. I used to teach elementary school (as young as 1st graders). And you can tell which kids weren't exposed to books early or at all.
My 3-year old loves books! We've started reading to her since she was in the womb. She has lots of favorites. I'd add:
- Jamberry
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar
- Brown Bear, Brown Bear
and anything else by Eric Carle to the list.
