My son was an absolute angel when he was all gums, but then his first tooth cut though and he let out a primal scream that would put any animal on National Geographic to shame. The glass shattering, mind numbing shriek made us realize how painful getting teeth is for him.
Here are a few remedies that brought his mouth (and our ears!) a bit of relief.
- Camilia. These homeopathic single dose capsules are easy to empty into a child's mouth.
- Healthy Times Teething Biscuits. Available in maple or vanilla flavors, the hard baked biscuits are wheat, soy and dairy free.
- Salto Wooden Teether & Clutch. This maple and beech wood clutch can handle a bite.

Hyland's Teething Tablets beat the Camilia ones hands-down, in my opinion. An absolute must for us.
1i picked up this gummy teether by tommee tippee for my boy, he's at that point where he keeps putting his fingers in his mouth!
2My daughter LOVES the Hyland teething tablets!!!
Also, the Oragel things that look like q-tips are good for numbing some of the pain.
3Ugh - we're in the middle of some serious teething right now. I am going to try those Hyland tablets. I've heard rave reviews.
4Watch those teething biscuits... they're awesome and work well, not to mention they don't have junk in them at all, but when they get soggy they can break off and baby can choke... just make sure you're supervising!
5A few drops of Rescue Remedy worked wonder for my son when he started cutting teeth like a maniac. A few drops in water or directly under the tongue. Magic! Hylands did nothing for him.
6my niece was surprisingly good during the teething process. that's because she was busy crying about other things.... getting food when she's wants it.
7It's kind of sad, when you think about it, that babies have to go through this pain. I'm sure it hurts!
8LilRuck44 — you bring up a good point, I put my son's teething biscuits in the sassy teething feeder http://www.amazon.com/Sassy-Teething-Feeder-Assorted-Colors/dp/B00014PLG...
9until he got enough teeth to chew them. They cost around $5.
I agree hylands teething tablets pretty much changed my life!
10My mother rubbed bourbon onto my gums when I was a baby. I'm sure that's considered child abuse now though.
11We love the Hyland's tablets and are actually using them again for the 2 year molars that are refusing to come in!
