It seems most every mother I know is guilty of placing their child in front of the television for a minute or two so they can cook a meal or make a call to the pediatrician without interruptions. Before they know it, a minute turns into an hour and soon enough, cartoons are mama's new babysitter. A new study says toddlers are watching 32 or more hours of television a week. That may sound like a lot but when you start to add up those hours of Sesame Street and bouts of Sprout, it may be more realistic than she suspected.

I want to vote twice because my 5 year old watches like 2 hours a day but my toddler doesn't watch any, she has no interest.
1My 8 yr old daughter is not really much of a TV person.During the week she watches maybe an hour of TV after homework and on the weekends only about an hour and a half at night. She's more of an outdoor lover and actually prefers being outside playing with her friends or doing anything sports related.
2My kids are all different, but my 6 year old and 3 year old have all had times when they've watched lots of tv. I'm sure the baby will be different simply because there's no baby coming up behind her. We have very long cold winters so there isn't the option of playing outside for a good part of it, and there's only so much we can play at home. I find with my kids that from about 3-5 years old is when they watch the most tv. They are far from being old enought ot just go outside and play on their own, and I also have a younger one demanding a lot more attention from me then. Before 3yrs they aren't all that interested and after 5yrs they're into school almost full time. I think the baby will be different simply because I'm not splitting my time so much and can take her ourside or do other activities much easier.
