If the labor and delivery videos shown at your birthing class didn't get the point across, perhaps something a little more hands on is in order? This hand-knit Childbirth Education Doll ($150) is custom made to look like any mom-to-be and comes complete with baby, placenta, and umbilical cord — among other notable features. Can you stomach the graphic details and the steep price tag?

There are ways of explaining childbirth to a child, without giving them nightmares about giant bushes on dolls.
1exactly, CG. placenta? wow.
2That will give me nightmares and I am an adult and due in December. I don't know if I want to have this baby now that I have seen that doll.
3OK, maybe I am kidding a little bit but it is still quite disturbing.
this doll is creepy looking without the baby coming out! it is one of the ugliest things i have ever seen...but even if it was cuter i would still vote gag on this, kids don't need a visual like this, words suffice sometimes.

To each his own. I would never get that for my kids.
5While I do think birthing dolls can be helpful..I think this one is a little on the graphic side. I think it would be a little too much for most kids. You're trying to explain a complicated process to a child and i just dont think theyre going to be able to do anything but dwell on the dolls features.
6I'm not even worried about graphic, it's just freaking UGLY. It looks like a corpse giving birth. And the giant nipples must be a safety hazard.
$150? Gimme a break.
7EWW!! I would never get that for my daughter! I agree that there are better ways of explaining that stuff to your kids.
8GROSS!!!!!!!!!!
9omg...that made me crack up laughing!
puh-leeze...
10That has to be one of the strangest things I have ever seen! Ew!!!
11This is horrendous. Why does your child have to know exactly what happens?? This is just too weird
12that thing is over the top lol at caterpillargirl
